Possessive Adjective

This replaces the name of a person or thing that owns the noun you are describing. This goes before the noun.

Singular Plural
First Person My

This is my house.


This is our pony.

Second Person Your

Your dog is cute.


Your children are beautiful.

Third Person His, Her, Its

Her book is on the table.


That is their car.


Possessive Pronoun

This replaces the name of the noun you are referring to and shows clearly to whom the noun belongs.
J Singular Plural
First Person Mine

This is mine.


This is ours.

Second Person Yours

The dog is yours.


The money is all yours.

Third Person His, Hers, Its

This is his.


The car is theirs.
