We all know that reading a text and listening to a native speaker in conversation are two completely different things.
When a person is speaking normally with friends or colleagues, the spoken language changes quite a lot from what you could see written down. Don’t worry if it sometimes seems confusing!
A lot of this difference has to do with how some words are shortened to make the ideas easier to say with less effort. Below are four very common ways we change spoken English from the written style.
